Friends and Supporters

A recent review of our Charity Governing Documents, showed that we were perhaps not doing enough to encourage volunteers to support the sole managing trustee (the PC) in the day to day running of the village hall.  To address this the trustee body agreed to introduce a concept of Friends and Supporters, based on the analysis approved by the then trustee body after a consultation exercise conducted some 2 years ago.

 

Both Friends and Supporters of Steep War Memorial Village Club are considered as people or businesses who support the Village Hall and will happily come to help with a community task (it they can) or help run a social event  – importantly they are happy to be asked.

The difference is that “Friends” make a small annual (or lifetime) financial contribution. In return the “friends” have their name on the Friends page of the website if they wish.
